Fund Raising Director

Steven M Blaikie - I am 41 years old and I live alone in Edinburgh. I have two beautiful sons Conor and Aron, who stay with me most weekends and holidays.

I was diagnosed with MS in May 2002 after the death of my mother a year earlier.  Her death triggered a quite severe attack which affected my walking, although I hop along as best as I can.

In 2003 I was fortunate to meet Bruce Laidlow at the oxygen centre in Edinburgh.  He introduced me to Roger McDougall (diet and supplements), and in 2005 I was lucky enough to meet Ashton Embry of Best Diet fame. I still follow the diet now, and feel it helps me to control my symptoms.

In  November 2007 I felt I should do more to try and address some issues with my MS.  I contacted Linda Elsegood who very kindly came to Edinburgh and helped me to get onto LDN.  I would say this has been the most helpful thing for me- over the last 3 months there has been a slow lifting of fatigue.  Additionally, muscle spasms and bladder function have improved, and the light at the end of the tunnel seems a little brighter.

Following discussion with Linda, I have agreed to become the new director of fundraising for the LDN trust.  I look forward to interacting with many of you in the near future, as your ideas for raising income for clinical trials come flooding in!
